How to get rid of Hemorrhoids!

Hemorrhoids prevention and cure

Hemorrhoids can be caused when one over exert oneself during bowel movement. In many cases the beading and discomfort is a real torture. But fortunately this can be prevented and also cured with good results.

The easiest way to prevent hemorrhoids is to consume plenty of water and fiber that makes the stool full and moist. In some cases, when the pain is and discomfort is unbearable doctor should be consulted.

Hemorrhoids can be treated in two steps : first step is to get rid of the burning, itching and pain and second step is to shrink the actual hemorrhoids.

For healing the symptoms various creams and ointments can be used. These can help in relieving the itching, burning and pain. Some ointments will only target one symptom like itching while other creams will work well overall. Hemorrhoids creams are common remedies that can curb swelling and offer immediate and temporary relief from pain, itching, burning and discomfort of the hemorrhoids.

The shrinking of the hemorrhoids can be done with specially designed tubs called sitz bath available at major medical stores. This specially designed tube allows the soaking of hemorrhoids without taking a bath. The rectal area is soaked for 15 - 20 minutes for 3 -4 times a day. This will help relieve symptoms and also shrink the hemorrhoids.

Physical activity and eating habits are also important. Fruits like oranges, bananas, apples, grapefruits, mangos, prunes, grapes, watermelon and cherries can help improve the digestion process. Some foods like breads, sodas and white flour products should be avoided because they can cause constipation. Add physical activities to your daily routine. Running, swimming, walking are good options.

Application of ice packs to the affected area also helps shrink the hemorrhoids.

External Hemorrhoids Removal

Some surgical procedures can be performed in order to remove the external hemorrhoids:

  • Laser coagulation - the hemorrhoid clotted with an electrical probe which makes it shrink.
  • Infrared photocoagulation - the hemorrhoid is clotted with infrared light and it will shrink.
  • Hemorroidectomy - the complete removal of the hemorrhoid.

Internal Hemorrhoids Removal

Internal hemorrhoids can also be removed with different methods like:

  • Rubber band litigation - a small rubber band is placed at the base of the internal hemorrhoid.
  • Injection Sclerotherapy – in this process a chemical solution is injected into the mucous membrane near the hemorrhoid. This will result in inflammation and closure of the veins and will skink the hemorrhoid.
  • Infrared coagulation - the dilated vein of the hemorrhoid is clotted with infrared.
  • Laser coagulation - A chemical reaction will be triggered by applying an electric current, this reaction will shut down the blood supply in the hemorrhoid and the inflamed tissue will shrink.
  • Hemorroidectomy - the hemorrhoids are removed surgically with a scalpel, cattery device or laser.
